Clay Zentangle Snowglobe

SKETCH:

•  Draw the zentangle pattern you would like to draw on your clay snow globe. It can be a Thanksgiving or Christmas theme zentangle snow globe. 
• You need to have at least some real things tangled up with your abstract zentangle, line, doodle, patterns. 

CLAY: 

• Start out with clay by making the most perfect 2 pinch pot globe you can make that are the same size. 
• When it is as perfect as you can make it, join the pieces together.
•  Carve your zentangle patterns in the clay. Not to deep. 
• Paint parts with red slip and burnish the globe by rubbing it until it shines. 
• Make a base with 2 circle coils for the globe to sit on. 
• Name and period on both clay parts.

• Make 2 pinch pots the same size.
• Make 10 small clay balls to go inside the 2 pinch pots.
• Join the 2 pinch pots to make a clay ball.
• Add texture & name in pasta letters.

2. Make a pinch pot and add details, texture for your animal. 
3. Take a plastic egg and make sure the egg fits in the egg cup. Remember clay shrinks about 10%. 
4. Put your name and period on the bottom before you hand it in.

process:

• Sketch, color and upload your dragon to Artsonia.
• Make a 4" pinch pot as you made in your "pinch pot test" 
• Add features of a dragon (score & slip): eyes, heads, tail, feet
• Add texture embedded and added.
• Name in pasta letters and glaze.
